MedTech Accelerator: Rapid Regulatory Support Fund Programme Guide
If you are an SME working in MedTech, you can apply for up to £30,000 of funding for access to regulatory affairs advice. This independent, regulatory affairs support is to help MedTech companies navigate regulatory pathways and help safe and effective devices to reach patients.
The MedTech Accelerator: Rapid Regulatory Support fund (MARRS) is a rapid funding initiative to support UK MedTech SMEs with the costs of regulatory affairs support. Research conducted by CPI uncovered that 9 in 10 SMEs rely on external regulatory support, which is likely to be over 3000 companies. The fund has the capacity to support 140 companies with meeting regulatory requirements. Up to 300 completed applications can be reviewed to enable rapid funding timelines. To ensure fairness and consistency of the rules for everyone interested in the programme, the competition was closed after we reached the target number of applications, and no further applications were accepted.
CPI works with innovators to support the development and pilot manufacture of innovative products. Therefore, we appreciate how impactful and helpful this type of funding can be for UK SMEs.

CPI is delivering this MedTech Accelerator on behalf of the Office of Life Sciences and the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology, to support small and medium-sized (SME) businesses with navigating the complex and ever-changing MedTech regulatory landscape. This accelerator programme will support SMEs that rely on external regulatory expertise to commercialise new products, or re-register existing products in-line with new regulatory requirements.
We are interested in supporting applications related to all aspects of regulatory affairs. We understand due to the changing regulatory landscape the difficulties associated with re-registering existing products in the marketplace and especially encourage applications from businesses facing this challenge.
Applications will be open from Wednesday 9th October 2024 at 9am and close at midday on 31st October 2024. We will review applications regularly, and if we receive 300 applications before the end date, then we will close applications early. Companies are, therefore, encouraged to apply as soon as they can.
