CPI’s Centre for Innovative Formulations: Engineering Surfaces and Materials project will provide free support to SMEs in County Durham and the North East by assisting in the development of new processes and formulated products.
The Centre for Process Innovation (CPI) is pleased to announce the start of a new round of support for North East SMEs via the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) 2014 – 2020 programme.
CPI’s Centre for Innovative Formulations: Engineering Surfaces and Materials project will provide free support to SMEs in County Durham and the North East by assisting in the development of new processes and formulated products. This will be offered through access to state-of-the-art formulation preparation and characterisation facilities, technical expertise and business support based at CPI’s National Formulation Centre at NETPark in Sedgefield.
The project will run for 24 months and will aim to support a minimum of 75 qualifying businesses during that time working with formulated products such as nano-enhanced inks, coatings, composites and resins, polymers, and textiles, and many others.
CPI’s Director of Formulation, Graeme Cruickshank said: “We are delighted to have been successful in our bid to the European Regional Development Fund. We believe that support for SMEs through the new product development process is vital to enabling innovative new products to reach the commercial market. As such, we invite SMEs of all sizes to engage with us and find out how we could help you to develop your formulated product or process.”
