CPI highlighting excellence in the North East
29 Aug 2012
CPI has been shortlisted for the Medical and Life Sciences category of the Insider’s Made in the North East Awards. CPI’s submission identified our work in Industrial Biotechnology (IB) and how we have helped the North East IB sector progress.
The awards will take place on 2nd October at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Durham where CPI will be competing against SCM Pharma and Quantum Pharmaceuticals for the award.
The awards, which have been divided into six categories, will celebrate the success of manufacturing companies in the North East and reward the innovation and technological expertise that the region is home to.
Philip Cunliffe, specialist publications editor at Insider, said: “The North East has a long and proud history of manufacturing and today’s companies are continuing that tradition.”
“We received some very strong entries for these awards and the judging panel had a real job to whittle the longlist down. They were particularly impressed with the submissions from some of the less well known companies which clearly demonstrates that manufacturing in the North East is very much alive and kicking.”
The full shortlist is as follows:
Green Manufacturing Award – Grundfos Manufacturing Ltd, Haskel Energy and TDX
Innovation Award – Analox Ltd, Huntsman Pigments and Tharsus
Export Award – Rayovac, Thermal Resources Management (TRM) and Union Electric Steel
Technology Award – AYO Digital, Route Monkey and North East Assemblies
Medical and Life Sciences Award – CPI, SCM Pharma and Quantum Pharmaceuticals
Manufacturing Company of the Year – Elring Klinger, Ford, J. Barbour & Sons Manufacturing Ltd, SMD, Tharsus and Bel Valves
