Many countries around the world are introducing ambitious CO2 emissions targets in order to meet Net Zero. Electrification powered by batteries is one of the most commercially viable solution to meet these targets for passenger vehicles. It poses both an opportunity and threat. There is a real need to support companies and others within the supply chain in their transition to emission free products. Failure to do so will result in real disruption to the existing labour and value chains. There remains several challenges related to battery materials in particular cost and range.
